The primary activities of the SGMOO are the Directed Reading Program (DRP) and Stanford Women in Math Mentoring program (SWIMM). In the DRP, graduate students ("mentors") are matched with interested undergraduate students ("mentees") to read a mathematical text over the course of a quarter. SWIMM is a mentoring program that aims to reduce the gender gap in mathematics, in which undergraduates interested in math and computational science are paired with graduate student mentors from math, statistics, and ICME.

The Stanford Amateur Radio Club strives to bring the culture of ham radio to the Stanford campus. In the spirit of amateur radio, we promote the art of amateur radio by licensing our members as FCC amateur radio operators, connect with other operators across the world, and provide emergency communications infrastructure to the local community for support in times when other communication channels fail.

A yearly class is offered to members to train for the FCC amateur radio license exam at the technician level. Hermanas in STEM translates to "Sisters in STEM" from Spanish. Our main goal is to unite and build a community of support among Latina graduate and postdoctoral scholars in the STEM fields at Stanford. The pursuit of higher education is a challenge. However, this pursuit can be even more challenging for Latina women who not only face gender discrimination, but also discrimination associated with being under-represented minorities in STEM fields. Furthermore, Latina women are often the bedrocks of their family and community. Consequently, they often struggle to find a balance between navigating the professional world of science and remaining connected to their culture.
