APAMSA is the nation's only organization specifically representing East, Southeast, and South Asian and Pacific Islander-American medical students. Stanford's APAMSA chapter works to directly promote the health and well-being of the APA community by collaborating with faculty members, hosting community health outreach events, raising awareness about APA healthcare issues, organizing annual speaker events on topics related to APA health, and building community at Stanford Medicine. We also aim to bring together those who are passionate about health issues affecting the Asian-Pacific American (APA) community to develop a strong collective, public, and political voice. We provide an important forum for APA students to meet, mentor, and exchange information and experiences that are critical for developing personally and professionally.

The Stanford Chapter of the Latino Medical Student Association (LMSA) serves to advocate for the unique health needs and interests of the Hispanic and Latin American communities through education, outreach, and service. The mission of the Stanford chapter of Medical Students for Choice (MSFC) is to equip medical students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to provide compassionate, evidence-based, and justice-centered reproductive health care throughout their careers. As a medical-student–specific organization, MSFC uniquely focuses on clinical training, professional development, and career preparation—bridging the gap between reproductive justice principles and future practice. We aim to rebuild a community through hands-on workshops (e.g., manual vacuum aspiration and family planning), educational events on abortion access and policy, and mentorship with OBGYN faculty and residents, while partnering with undergraduate reproductive health organizations to foster a robust, cross-campus reproductive health ecosystem.

Medical Students with Disability and Chronic Illness (MSDCI) provides a support system and platform for advocacy for students with disabilities and chronic illness. We are also opening the conversation about the difficulties of becoming a healthcare provider while having personal experiences with illness and disease, and how these experiences can better inform our colleagues and patient care. We are committed to increasing resources and accessibility for MD and PA students living with disability/chronic illness at Stanford and in medicine as a whole.

Any and all MD and PA students with lived experiences of disability/chronic illness and/or those with an interest in disability justice, equity, and inclusion are welcome to join our organization!

The Stanford Healthcare Design Challenge, the first of its kind, sources international talent and directs them toward addressing critical issues in healthcare. Not only is this the first healthcare design competition at Stanford, where we may leverage the incredible entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley, but it is also an opportunity to pioneer a new model for academic competitions. Specifically, we aim to provide critical follow-on support to teams who participate in our case competitions through key mentorship pathways and vested financial resources, contingent on students carrying their idea forward from ideation to implementation.

Stanford Homelessness Outreach Program (S-HOP) is an organization that provides a wide range of outreach-based services for people experiencing homelessness in the Bay Area. Services include flu vaccines, basic medical screenings, harm reduction supply distribution, voter registration, and basic case management. S-HOP is officially partnered with Stanford Flu Crew, Cardinal Free Clinics, and Stanford Housing Equity Project (SHEP) to provide services and volunteers. Community organizations include the Santa Clara Department of Public Health, the San Mateo Department of Public Health, United Effort Organization, Hope's Corner Mountain View, and We Hope East Palo Alot.
