Originally founded in 1967, the BSU has been instrumental in spurring many imaginative changes in the Black community. We organize programs such as Black Convocation, the Black Love concert, and our youth empowerment conference to celebrate, uplift, and center Black voices. We create this space to help navigate the Central American erasure in the Latino community at Stanford. It is important to recognize the diversity within the Central American diaspora. CASA is a space for CentAm's of all races, ethnicities, LGBTQ+ identity, religion, abilities, and/or immigration status. As we create this space we want to stress our commitment to Black/Indigenous folks within CentAm diaspora– who are too often at the forefront of the trauma in our community. The mission of the Lao Student Union (LLSU) is to organize, rally, and celebrate the existence of the Lao students on campus. When people talk about Southeast Asia, Laos is often forgotten about and left behind; even amongst Southeast Asians ourselves it feels. This organization is to spotlight the incredible culture and heritage our people have, build a community and space for our voice, and to be fully recognized amongst our underrepresented peers. Above all this will be a space of community build and support for students who have been historically underrepresented on Stanford's campus.

However, we also strive to be open to all people on campus, especially other underrepresented groups who may be struggling to find a voice and a community of their own.
