The purpose of the Stanford GSB Artificial Intelligence (AI) Club is to serve GSB students, faculty members, and the broad Stanford community as the bridge between frontier development in AI and its applications and influence on the business and social worlds. We strive to increase awareness, knowledge, and opportunity at the GSB in the arts, media, and entertainment (AME) arenas, including film, TV, music, publishing, and new media technology. Our goals are 1) to educate members about the fundamentals and future of these industries; 2) increase professional opportunities for students; 3) promote network-building with alumni and industry representatives, and 4) showcase the creative talent and artistic diversity within the GSB community. The AME Club is made up of over 140 active MBAs as well as other graduate students, including Knight Fellows and Stanford Documentary Film Program students. Club membership has grown over 40 percent this year, reflecting the growing interest in AME industries. Many members have entertainment/media backgrounds, including positions at MTV, Disney, Universal, Time Warner, Pearson, and Fox, to name just a few.

The Black Business Student Association (BBSA) serves as a support network for Black MBA, MSx, and PhD students at the Stanford Graduate School of Business (GSB). It also strives to enhance the GSB experience for all students; membership is open to all GSB students interested in cultural and professional issues that affect African-Americans.

The BBSA provides the opportunity for students to serve as mentors to local high school and undergraduate students, and interact with African-American GSB alumni. The annual gala presents a forum for the community to come together and discuss relevant issues and plan strategies for success, and features terrific keynote speakers.

The BBSA also plays a key role in connecting with the African-American communities at other top business schools. In addition, a growing number of companies are reaching out to the BBSA, in order to tap our high-quality talent pool.

The Consumer & Retail Club is designed for students interested in learning about or pursuing a career in the consumer & retail industry, both from an operating and investing perspective. Events throughout the year promote learning across the consumer industry and multiple retail sales channels (brick and mortar, direct-to-consumer, eCommerce, etc). In addition, events are organized to expose members to companies in a variety of segments and functional areas within the industry. These functional areas range from merchandising and supply chain management to marketing, strategy, and investing, while industry verticals range from beauty to fashion to CPG. We also aim to connect students with potential employers for networking purposes and proactively work with the CMC and reach out to companies based on student interest.

Our annual calendar includes treks (Europe, San Francisco, and Los Angeles); small group dinners focused on various channels, segments, and functional areas; alumni dinners; company visits; and other events.

Membership gives you access to small group theme dinners with 6-8 students, faculty, or other interesting Silicon Valley residents. You (and your SO) can help cook, host, and of course ...eat. The purpose of the FOM club is to help GSB students gain a deeper understanding of the rapidly changing mobility landscape that is being disrupted by self-driving and flying cars, new ownership models, and multi-modal transport models. These changes will have an unprecedented effect on hundreds of thousands of jobs in the US economy - and on society as a whole - and at the same time, create new business opportunities for entrepreneurs.

We will explore the four big trends that are actively challenging the existing infrastructure:

Connectivity: Cars will be able to communicate with each other, thereby avoiding accidents. What are some key technology trends to make this happen? What skills will be needed for entrepreneurs?
Autonomy: Cars will be able to drive themselves, which has tremendous effects on various factors such as urban planning, legal codes in case of accidents, insurances, business models for car producers, and new entrants such as Waymo and Uber, etc.
Sharing: Autonomous cars could be available at the click of a button, thus eliminating the need for personal car ownership. What are the effects on business models of car producers - a USD 2.3 trillion industry in the US alone?
Electric: Experts agree that the future of the car industry is in electric vehicles. Who will win in the race towards electric mass-mobility? Will it be prominent challengers such as Tesla or the established car producers?

GSB Gives Back hosts an annual fundraising event that started over 30 years ago. Today, it is comprised of the Charity Auction and the Gala. The Auction consists of items donated by the students, faculty, and prominent alumni (such as box seats for the SF Giants or dinner with KKR founder George Roberts). It is a silent auction that takes place over two weeks and culminates in a celebratory Gala. In 2019, we held an amazing, sold-out event at the Julia Morgan Ballroom in San Francisco with nearly 700 attendees that was inclusive and fun for all members of the GSB community. Together, the event represents our student body's single largest fundraising effort, with proceeds going towards student-selected charities. We raise ~$100K annually and have donated millions of dollars to charity since our inception.

The GSB Golf Club's mission is to provide its members with opportunities to learn one of the most critical and underappreciated business skills, the game of golf. To help members improve their level of play, the club will sponsor a number of instructional clinics focusing on all facets of the game (swing fundamentals, short game, etiquette etc.). The club will also organize various opportunities for its members to compete with one another. These opportunities will include best-ball, team match play, individual match play, and scramble-style tournaments. Finally, the club will attempt to secure discounts on equipment from local retailers and hold a club test day in the fall with one of the prominent club manufacturers.

The Greater China Business Club is a platform, interface, and exchange for people interested in business in the Greater China region: Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong. The club will provide opportunities to connect, share knowledge, learn, discover, and create opportunities.

First and foremost, we strive to improve our members' ability to succeed in Greater China-related business. We seek to do this by:
(i) Pooling and expanding our networks with GSB and Stanford alumni as well as other members of the Greater China business community;
(ii) Conducting educational events to increase the depth of our understanding of Greater Chinese business;
(iii) Promoting the Stanford GSB brand name in Greater China and within Greater China business circles in the Stanford area.

Second, we will work to increase the understanding of business and opportunity in Greater China. We will do this by engaging with the larger GSB and Stanford community through educational activities. We have held a number of events that have drawn many attendees from the MSx program, the Ph.D. program, undergraduates, and graduate students from other schools with interest in business opportunities in Greater China.

The Stanford Healthcare Club is the primary life science and health care industry-oriented student organization at Stanford. The Private Equity Club is devoted to fostering awareness of and interest in the private investment industry throughout the GSB community. Our activities focus on middle-stage growth equity and late-stage LBO investment activities. We encourage students with and without industry experience to participate.

Every year, near the middle of spring quarter, the entire GSB community awaits with bated breath the most spectacular--nay, only--quasi-artistic performance to be put on by the business school. The annual GSB show is a long-standing tradition here at Stanford. It is entirely student-written and student-run, and consists of videos, skits, and hilarious song and dance numbers, all designed to bring a bit of humor (that's humour for the Europeans among us) and wit to an institution that, uhm, can use it!

Use the GSB Show as a forum to exact your own personal revenge on, or to celebrate, your D&D professor or that overeager guy in the front row who had to be carried away for a dislocated shoulder caused by hand-raising enthusiasm. Or simply use the Show to exhibit all the artistic skills that have lain dormant in you throughout the year here at the GSB (and they will). People are still talking about that horror film of fall quarter "The D&D Project" and our opening song and dance number "Livin' La Vidalakis".

Talent and experience are welcome AND APPRECIATED, but not at all necessary. If you're interested in writing, performing, directing or crewing the Show, or if you just want to see what it's all about, follow the sounds of uncontrolled laughter.

The GSB Soccer Club aims to promote a balance between fun and serious soccer for all GSB students who are interested in the world's greatest sport. We welcome all levels of skill and involvement. For those who love playing, we plan a number of big events throughout the year, including the UCLA Tournament, Austin Tournament, California Cup, and MBA1s vs. MBA2s. Whether you are a die-hard sports fan or a sports industry veteran looking to deepen your network, the Sports Management Club is a perfect fit for you.

The Sports Management Club hosts guest speakers, plans small group dinners, sets up career panels, and organizes outings with those involved in the business side of sports and related industries. Recent examples include general managers and presidents of sports organizations (e.g., Sam Hinkie -- GM of the Philadelphia 76ers; Dave Kaval -- President of the Oakland Athletics), league executives (e.g., Amy Brooks -- President of Team Marketing & Business Operations and Chief Innovation Officer at the NBA), and representatives from multinational sports organizations (e.g., Nike). The SMC extends far beyond sports teams and leagues to also include apparel, media, marketing, e-commerce, sports agencies, and more.

In addition to the great guests we bring to Stanford, we will also be making trips to visit Bay Area sports organizations both to attend sporting events and to meet with key executives. The GSB has an incredibly strong network in the world of sports, and the SMC is focused on providing students the best access and exposure possible to that broad network.

The Sports Management Club also plans and executes a day-long Sports Innovation Conference each year that draws hundreds of attendees and involves keynote addresses, deep dive panels, and networking opportunities for GSB and Stanford students, sports investors, entrepreneurs, and executives.

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the Stanford Graduate School of Business is geographically and strategically positioned to take advantage of a wealth of technology companies headquartered and thriving within its vicinity. The Tech Club is open to members of the Stanford GSB community with a passion for technologies ranging from consumer to enterprise, software to hardware, mobile to wearable. The mission of Tech Club is to empower its members to explore the technology industry, regardless of their background. There are several dimensions in which the Tech Club operates and advances Stanford GSB students' interest in technology. These include:

Access to high-profile technology leaders—Through small dinners, roundtable discussions, panels, and executive speaker forums, Tech Club members interact directly with and learn from leaders and visionaries in the tech industry.
Career Transition or Career Advancement—Working closely with the CMC and Stanford GSB Alumni, the Tech Club facilitates many introductions to firms and organizations employing Stanford GSB MBA students for Summer Internships and beyond. The Tech Club assists members in exploring career opportunities in the technology sector and coordinates treks and site visits to a diverse range of technology companies. Treks in the past have included visits to companies such as eBay and Google.
Knowledge sharing in Technology & Trends—The Tech Club caters to a wide range of members' experiences with technology, welcoming people who are brand new to the field as well as those who have already established deep expertise. Through small group dinners and industry events - including an annual trip to SXSW in Austin, Texas - the Tech Club brings its members together to collaborate, learn from each other, build relationships, and better understand technology and its implications for business and society.
Cross-Club and Across the Street Interaction—The Tech Club intends to foster relations with other organizations and schools within Stanford, including co-hosting events with the Stanford GSB E-Club, the Business Association of Stanford Engineering Students (BASES), Stanford's Office of Technology Licensing (OTL), and Stanford's Media-X center.

The Texas Club is comprised of students who are from Texas, who are interested in finding jobs in Texas, or who simply have an interest in Texan issues! Our mission is to foster a Texas community at the GSB that builds relationships (through monthly social events such as barbecues and game watching parties), facilitates professional development (through career treks and BBLs with industry leaders and Texas-based companies), and fosters Texas pride (by hosting cultural events such as a trek to the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo).

The Venture Capital Club is one of the largest and most popular student organizations at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. The club sponsors a variety of group events with venture capitalists and entrepreneurs, including small group dinners, speaker presentations, workshops, and social events. Club members range from those with previous VC experience to those who are exploring the venture industry for the first time.

The Venture Capital Club's mission is to facilitate:

Education - Help club members learn about the venture capital industry and the fundraising and investment process through interaction with industry experts and experienced fellow students.
Networking - Create opportunities for students to meet fellow business school students with common interests, Stanford students outside the business school, and members of the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial and venture capital community.
Jobs - Help club members interested in summer or full-time opportunities in venture capital to find jobs through student projects, a resume book (only club members can participate!), job opportunities that come through the club, and web-based resources about the VC industry.
Furthermore, the Venture Capital Club serves aspiring student entrepreneurs by facilitating connections with potential investors and providing coaching for business plan pitches.

The Veterans Club is the GSB's association of military veterans. While all ex-military MBA and MSx students are automatically members, the club is open to all GSB students and attempts to relate the unique experiences of military service to current events and business problems that managers are likely to encounter, including strategic, human resources, and operational issues. The Veterans Club also provides an opportunity to help MBA1 club members who are seeking a private-sector position for the first time with advice concerning the recruiting process, including writing resumes, industry and company analysis, and interviewing skills.

The GSB Wine Circle seeks to provide a foundation of knowledge and tasting experiences to further students' enjoyment and understanding of wine. The Wine Circle offers opportunities to develop closer relationships between students, faculty, and industry insiders in an informal social setting.

This year there will be four focuses to the Wine Circle's events:

Accessible Wine - Events for those of you who want exposure to a variety of wines. Each of these events will focus on one aspect of wine.
Educational Events - A series of educational events catered for those who know nothing about wine to those who want to explore some of the subtlety that wine has to offer. Some areas that we hope to explore include: matching wine with food, the regions of France, aged wine, and fortified wine.
Specialty Tastings - We will continue to bring well-known winemakers and industry representatives to campus to show their wines.
Informals - We will continue to get together in groups of ten to twenty to explore particular wine themes. Planned events include tastings of Port, Champagne, Bordeaux, and the best of the new world.
