The American Constitution Society for Law and Policy is a recently formed national organization of law students, law professors, judges, practicing lawyers and others. We want to counter the dominant vision of American law today, a narrow conservative vision that lacks appropriate regard for the ways in which the law affects people’s lives. We seek to restore the fundamental principles of respect for human dignity, protection of individual rights and liberties, genuine equality, and access to justice to their rightful—and traditionally central—place in American law. We want to strengthen the intellectual underpinnings of—and the public case for—a vision of the law in which these values are paramount—on such issues as: privacy; freedom of speech; federalism; anti-discrimination and affirmative action; gay rights; a woman’s right to choose; labor and consumer rights; protection of health, safety, and the environment; the death penalty; and the criminal justice system.

The Stanford Antitrust Law and Policy Association aims to bring attention and conversation to current events in the field of antitrust law. We hope to raise interest the subject by facilitating discussions, bringing practitioners to campus, and offering resources to students to learn more about antitrust.

APILSA is a long-standing law school organization that promotes and advocates for the interests of Asian and Pacific Islander (API) law students as well as the larger Asian and Pacific Islander communities at Stanford. APILSA coordinates get- togethers and mentorship programs, provides academic assistance and professional advice to students, and works with the law school administration and other student groups to foster an inclusive and welcoming community for API law students. Additionally, we provide programming on the intersections of API issues and the law.

The Stanford Black Law Student Association (BLSA) is a student-run organization that strives to provide career and academic support for students of African descent and their allies. The group also serves to forge alliances among BLSA members, alumni, faculty of color, and other law students in the Bay Area. We provide a space for students to engage with issues impacting black communities, both through discussion and community service. Stanford BLSA is a chapter of the National BLSA organization that includes more than 200 law schools. All members of the Stanford community are encouraged to participate in our events.

Effective Altruism is a philosophy and social movement focused on answering one question: How can we best
help others? Our resources are limited, so we have to use them wisely. Effective Altruism is the project of: (1)
Using evidence and reason to find the most promising causes to work on, and (2) taking action, by using our
time and money to do the most good we can.
Stanford Law School Effective Altruism (SLSEA) aims to connect Stanford Law School students interested in
the philosophy of Effective Altruism with each other and with the broader Effective Altruism community, to
explore with our members how lawyers and law students can effectively do good in their legal careers, and to
provide the broader Stanford Law School community with access to engaging events and guests related to the
intersections of Effective Altruism and the law.

Older Wiser Law Students (OWLS) provides a social network for students with more life experience than the average law student. If you are over thirty, just feel that way or simply like hanging out with people who are, this is the organization for you.

The group tends to also include students with families, students with advanced degrees and students transitioning into law from another career. However, the organization is open to anyone and does not discriminate on the basis of age or any other factor.

SLLSA is committed to creating and maintaining a community for Latinx students at Stanford Law School and sending highly qualified, dedicated and responsible Latinx lawyers into every legal arena.

SLLSA provides personal and academic support for its membership including seminars on briefing cases, studying for exams, writing résumés and interviewing with potential employers. SLLSA also sponsors a variety of social and cultural events, including an annual celebration of Latinx culture for Law School faculty, staff, students and their families.

Stanford Law School Plaintiffs’ Lawyers Association (PLA) endeavors to build something that has never existed on campus: a community of SLS students and alumni dedicated to contingency-fee based work on behalf of wronged individuals.

The PLA wil have two purposes:

First, the PLA will conduct on-campus programming to support student interest in the profession. The PLA will host prominent practitioners to educate students and answer questions about contemporary practice; faculty members to advise student on courses of study, clerkships, and broader developments in the field; and, student panels on summer experiences, future plans and recommendations for success. Ultimately, students interested in the profession will be able to turn to the PLA first for any resource related to the profession – information, community support, and guidance, etc. – throughout their time at SLS.

Lastly, the group seeks to build an active and robust alumni network of SLS plaintiffs’ lawyers, so that students have a resource for contacting alumni and alumni have a resource to contact each other. Through this work, SLS students and alumni in the field can build and sustain invaluable connections for their professional practice.

The Stanford Public Interest Law Foundation is dedicated to creating and supporting opportunities for the Public Interest Community to engage in innovative public interest work. Led entirely by students, SPILF raises money to provide financial support to members of the Stanford Law community working to further the public interest. SPILF’s goals are to:

1. Bring legal services to those groups that would otherwise lack access to adequate legal representation;
2. Strengthen the network of students and alumni involved with public interest;
3. Provide training and support to students interested in pursuing public interest work at Stanford Law School and after graduation; and,
4. Increase participation in and the visibility of public interest initiatives at Stanford.

The purpose of Women of Stanford Law is to:
• Promote women’s participation in the legal profession through educational
opportunities (panels, workshops, etc.), connections to alumnae, recognition and
